Remember, he has not yet cleared medical in the U.S. due to a serious motorcycle accident.
Unable to fight here means limitations.
He has fought Latin America's toughest amateurs to an 86 Win (57 KO)- 6 Loss record. Becoming Central/South American Champion.
Defeated Vincente Musquera to become WBA Super-Featherweight Champion. Valero defended the title four times.
100% KO ratio against fighters in a very tough division.
Stronger opponents ahead.

...and his life was definitely worth remembering. Sorry, Droolie, but Bruce Lee is untouchable. Even in death.
and i must note, he did beat chuck norris... just saying. i love bringing that up for all my simple minded friends who idolize chuck norris for some odd reason. He's old and the most he does these days are BOWFLEX COMMERCIALS! and that Ultimate Combat league whatever, which sadly the denver fearce or whatever miserably lose every time

Tap, by the way Chuck endorses Total Gym, not Bowflex. :) And in all fairness to the World Combat League, they had some pretty fierce fighters. They may not have fought MMA but these guys and girls all trained just hard as anyone else. You can't take that away from them.

Did I not say I have "fists of fury" ...clearly a Bruce Lee reference? But I guess this is the interweb where everything is to be taken seriously.

still have yet to see this guy fight (maybe i should try to youtube him?), but realized he's in the weight range of a young prospect that i'm very impressed with
if you're a boxing fan, you might know this name...and if you don't, i'm sure you soon will:
Yuriorkis Gamboa
12-0 (10 KO)
2004 olympic gold medalist
this guy is an absolute savage & physical specimen. he has been called the "mini mike tyson"
YouTube - ?2008.07.18?Yuriorkis Gamboa?vs Al Seeger

I couldn't get passed the first three minutes of the fight because Seether kept hanging on to Gamboa. That's what bother's me the most about boxing. It drives me crazy when they do that. By no means do am I an expert on boxing, so if there is a valid reason for that please educate me.

that would be this fight:
YouTube - ?2008-10-04?Yuriorkis Gamboa vs Marcos Ramirez
the 10 count DID come fast when the ref counted "9-10", but the outcome would have been the same :)

maybe you meant first 3 minutes of the video? because that fight ends in the first round, which is only 3 minutes long to begin with ;)
as far as holding, its done when your opponent is kicking your ass and you need to regroup...its a better alternative than taking a knee & getting a "standing 8" count (which deducts 1 point from your score in that round) which is the other thing you can do to regroup yourself when you're getting your ass kicked
in boxing, you'll tie up the arms of your opponent until the ref separates you or the opponent manages to free himself, which will keep you from getting hit while you clear your head
the other reason its done, is if you're fighting a shorter fighter and you're the taller fighter. you wanna keep at distance, where you have the advantage over your smaller opponent (reach, punch length)...when the small guy gets in close, the advantage swings like a pendulum, so you tie him up & wait until the ref separates you so you can get put back into the spot thats to your benefit (the outside range) <<--- this is what seeger was doing
now that i'm on my boxing rant, lol...improper use of tactic is what helped allow mike tyson to dominate. it wasnt until buster douglas, the first guy to actually keep the distance (all elite fighters tyson fought were much taller than he was, but once they got hit a couple of times they tried to keep him close & tied up...instead, they should have stayed further away) and stick to that gameplan, that tyson was finally beaten

Yeah, I guess I turned it off right before the fight ended. But thank you for the explanation. Consider it an educational rant. ;) And I asked for the explanation anyway. I'm always out to learn something new. Now I'll watch boxing with a different outlook.
I'm going to go back and finish watching it. :)

PS: I definitely understand about the sparring someone taller and getting in on the inside. That's how I spar my son since he is 6'2" and I'm 5'8". I know, two different sports, but similar in that aspect. I'm able to punch him when get past his guard.
