So what did everyone think about the fights last night, I got home in time to catch the main event which was really all I was concerned about anyway. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Question: didn't they say Lesnar punched Couture in the back of the neck? Isn't that illegal? Not sure but I thought that is what I heard the commentators saying. Just seeing what you guys thought. Peace!

Aww, Randy is still the best. After the first round I thought it would end up just like the Tim Sylvia fight...going the distance and Brock eventually gassing to give Randy a win by Decision....But he's got too much power...one shot is all it takes. I was amazed to see Randy actually pick the beast up and almost slam him...that would have been the shit...If it kept going I am sure he would have eventually. Randy is truly amazing and talented. I was very sad to see Brock get that devastating punch in so early....I enjoyed watching the blood in his eye bothering him...experience is alot....ahh well, The Natural will continue fighting I'm, sure. I am looking for the post fight interview now to see what he has to say. It was also pleasant to have a toned done Brock...I think he grew ton of much due respect for Randy after that match. I am sure he assumed that he would just steamroll Randy. Man he's a beast.....I really dislike his superfast tiny hammerfists that finished the fight....like he's wacked out on speed.....but I guess they are effective... And I like when the ref gives them a good chance to get out of it....sometimes they stop it a bit early in my opinion...

Anyways...go Randy we luv ya! What a inspiration.
Hopefully Nogeira can teach Brock a lesson.

I was thinking the same thing after the first round Jessica. I was hoping Randy didn't get caught with a good punch before Lesnar gassed. Oh well, shit happens. Randy is still a class act. And maybe Brock's crowd reception will influence his attitude in the future.

Yeah, a lot of us were disappointed. We were all rooting for the hometown boy! Like you, Jess, I hate it when Lesnar comes down with those hammer fists, but they seem to work for him. Until then, I thought Randy had the fight. Lesnar looked like he was getting gassed and I know he could not have gone all five rounds, but damn that punch. Oh well, I hope Randy will be back. He is such a great fighter.

Nice break-down Jess. Seemed like we were watching a Light-Heavyweight vs. Heavyweight fight. Randy's cage savy and skill just couldn't match up against Brock's cargo. Randy will always remain a champ among fans of MMA. Possibly he'll retire and help with Lisa's MMA efforts. Question now is, who challenges for Brock's belt? Your suggestion of Nogeira makes sense, and probably be the one. I would like to see Fedor finally decide to sign with UFC and go for it. Once again, it's a size issue. As powerful as Fedor is, he still has had some difficulty with the giants. Alway managed to win strong though. The guy is great.

Kenny Florian's win was the bright spot of the night for me.

Lisa

Yeah I was glad to see him win as well. I need to watch the night's fights again. I missed most of them. I just caught the end of Florian.

Kenny really dominated Stevenson. He's 11-3 now. Says he going after BJ Penn. Seems like that would be a excellent match-up.

Yes I really enjoyed Kenny's fight. I think it would be a good match up for BJ. I also agree that Fedor would be great match for Brock...I don't know who else there is.....?

We'll see!

Hey Jess.

Does anyone know why Fedor balks at signing with UFC?

Besides Nogeria, maybe 'Cro Cop' (23-6-2)?

Call me crazy, but how about Cheick Kongo (12-4-1)? A stand-up specialist with 8 KO's. Very fast hand speed, dynamite strikes. I can almost see him moving around a slower Brock, busting him up, moving away, more strikes, then knock out. He'd better... his ground game is obviously still under construction. Thinking that anyone able to keep a match against Brock standing up, with powerful strikes, stands a decent chance of taking the belt.

Kongo might just be that guy.

Andri Arlovski (14-5-0, 10 KO's) would be a good challenger too.

It's rumored that Affliction has a Fedor vs. Arlovski match back on the table. Any know for sure?

Yep on January 24th they are gonna fight on PPV produced by Showtime.

Fedor is under and exclusive contract now and couldn't fight in the UFC unless the company he works for goes under.

The UFC contracts are exclusive as well, and I think Fedor doesn't want to be locked into only UFC fights. I have read that anyways. I am excited to see Andre fight him... I don't think he will be completely dominated like everyone does!
And for Kongo....not sure if he'd handle Brock or not...he's deffinately a big dude!!! With the experience......I'll have to think about that one, check out some of his fights.

I know they are exclusive but he wasn't until recently and UFC was thinking of bringing him in if Randy beat Lesnar and Nog. The were willing to copromote but that was just a rumor but with him signing exclusively now the rumor is utterly dead.

yeah after watching it over and over I realized that it wasn't in the back of the neck. I mean it probably was in the temple but like you said that big ass paw of his probably wrapped around his entire head. That big beast!

You obviously know what the outcome was. I honestly thought that Randy had a shot at winning. But anything can happen in a fight.
