View Full Version : Randy Couture
I watched the biography channel tonight and was surprised and excited to watch a biography on Randy "The Natural" Couture. I didn't really know much about Randy before watching his biography. All I knew was that he was an awesome fighter with a ton of talent. He was talking about how it was always a dream of his to make it to the Olympics as a wrestler, but after trying out 4 times, he'd only make it as an alternate. When commenting about this Randy said something about being grateful (which surprised me considering this was his dream) that he never made it to the Olympics because he probably would have stopped his wrestling and training because he achieved his dream and wouldn't be where he is today. This really made me think about Urijah's fight and I think sometimes things don't go the way we want or expect but really it's just making us stronger and more eager to get out and learn more to be better. I almost think a loss every once in a while is a good thing. Just think, if everything went Randy's way and he would have made the olympic team he wouldn't be the great fighter he is today! Just thought I'd share.
Hopefully this makes sense. It is time for bed for sure....

Totally makes sense Lisa. I always say, everything happens for a reason (whether we like it or not). Thanks for sharing that info on Randy. I can't wait to see him fight on Saturday!
it was just a biography but it made me realize alot of things! i will be rooting for him louder than ever (in my neighbors garage but whatever)

Fear I'll need a broom and dust pan ready. My tv remote will shatter the freakin' screen if Lesnar submits and dances over Randy.
Please God, hear our prayers.
I found out today I have to work that night! Bummer but I know the fight will be on so I'll be a slacker that night for sure :)

I was just watching him on the Best Damn Sports Show Period and I had no idea his wife and son were MMA fighters too. I guess the family that fights together stays together.

That just struck me as hilarious. Do you have a hidden camera in my living room? My 5 year old son kicks my ass after every fight we watch. Austin plays Urijah and I'm that "Mean Lil Evil Jens dude."

LOL! I know what you mean. Taking TKD with my son means I spar with him several times a week. See, there must be something to that statement.
I knew his wife was an MMA fighter too. I had no idea about his son, I only knew that about his wife because of some pictures I was looking at that Tracy "hot ass" Lee posted on her site. She got her ass kicked that fight but I guess you can't win them all. :)
