Besides the Great One, Mohammad Ali, my personal fave was the awesome welterweight Thomas 'The Hit Man' Hearns. With 61 career wins via 48 KO's Tommy stopped his first 17 opponents, 27 of his first 29. He was an absolute knockout machine.

never watched boxing. I really just dont have the same interest in pro boxing as i do mma. i try to make myself watch some of it cause i have to work on my standing game a lot, but for the next 3 months or so its gonna be like all ground game for wrestling.

The only boxer i ever seen was in the olympics, which were pretty good, wish i could remember the names

Being from the Louisville, KY area, I should like Ali but I don't! Honestly don't like him at all! Guess I'm too patriotic to like him and here in Louisville they act like he has done so much for the area HA! What a joke!

I know what you mean. Great boxer and showman but a draft dodging coward in my book. Hate to say that but I just feel that way.

I like B-Hop and Paul "The Pittsburgh Kid" Spadafora.

as an amateur: 100 WINS - 5 LOSSES

as a professional: 56 WINS (37 KO'S) - 5 LOSSES

His boxing record speaks for itself.

MMA put the brakes on my interest in pro boxing. I'll still might watch a championship bout (unless VS. is showing UFC reruns, then I hit the remote!)

Boxing has a long history, some really great fights (try checking out a few Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns bouts) especially the light to middleweights of the late 70's -80's. Compared to MMA though? They lack that 'rush'!

Khaosai Galaxy of Thailand. You may not know him but Master Thong at UF does. They came out of the same gym in Thailand Khaosai began his career as a muay thai fighter then to western boxing due to the power he had in his hands. Here is his bio.

Hey Tobias.
I'd never heard of him. Just read the bio. What a great run he had.

i think Larry Holmes was probably the best heavyweight off all time - i'd say the best of the modern era...he would have decimated ali in ali's prime ;)

Ali's sparring partner and life long friend, Holmes was a dominating fighter for sure. Didn't Larry defend his heavyweight title at least 15 times? Yeah, how great it would have been to see them match up in their prime.
