When Urijah fought Aldo and he got all the kicks what should Urijah learn to stay away from the kicks and also to Win? I would think if Urijah blocked kicks with his arms he would end up with broken arms. If Urijah stayed further away from Aldo he wouldn't be able to fight him either. What would be the best training to get for Urijah?

Thats why Urijah is going overseas to learn how to get better at leg kicks and defend them. i think he is going to come back and be a different fighter and so so much better.

he says he's going in June, i havent seen a recent pic of his leg but i know some others are going as well such as chad. Im excited to see what they learn!

Actually, I'm a little worried about these plans for him to go to Thailand in June. In case you have not been watching the news, there is a lot of political upheaval in Thailand right now. Not a great place to be visiting.

I heard Urijah is going to Thailand, Brazil,
and Holland to train in Muay thai. I will
have to watch the news for all 3 locations.

There is political issues will not effect Faber at all as long as he stays away from the problem areas. He told me that he would be training at Fairtex. They have 2 gym there and neither are in Bangkok. I'm pretty sure he'll be visiting their gym/resort in Pattaya which is 2 hours away from Bangkok. There is nothing on there other than older European men searching for young Thai hookers.

For Urijah to get better at muaythai, he must concentrate on that. Everyone knows that his wrestling is his bread and butter but when he can't use it, his stand up must be his next best weapon. At the time Urijah fought, Aldo, I not training at UF or I would have helped him as much as I could have. With him going to Thailand they will show him the correct way to defend against them which is checking it kick and firing back with the same leg you just blocked with. Faber is also taking the right approach in going to Thailand cause he will do nothing but train for the time he is there. That man is like a sponge, you show him something and he just sucks it quickly. I don't doubt Faber's ability to defeat Aldo one bit but he would have to work hard. Aldo has already shown that he can contain Faber's wrestling so Faber would have to contain Jose's striking. I would love to see Faber take a couple of kickboxing/muaythai amateur matches so he could acclimate to not having his shot available. This would help his stand up tremendously.

Tobias said Urijah will be about 2 hrs. for the problems in Thailand. That should be good as long as they aren't traveling toward the dangerous areas. You know when they had the big riots in LA. over the black guy that was beaten up by several officers and when the officers got off there was the los Angeles riots. I stayed away from the area and I'm about 1 hour and 1/2 from there and there was no problem for me since I was north of there. But the whole Los Angeles area was really dangerous. It was on the tv and the Blacks and others were looting there own neighbood store and walking away with tv and groceries, etc. It was really scary. There was a white guy who didn't know what was going on and was in a diesel truck for deliver and was pulled out of his truck and beat to death.

If you don't know, the policeman got off because the camera didn't catch what the black guy did to the officers before they beat him up. After that insident they put video camera's in all the patrol cars to protect the police as well as the public from faultily being accused of wrongful doing. Now the police have to be really careful
on any violence they use against anyone unless the camera can verify it. So many ppl can video everything they see now. Things were really scarey for a while.
