Thanks all of you. She's been having pain on her right side for months now. We found out a few weeks ago she only has one kidney (its on her right side). Its enlarged and not filtering/functioning properly. The quickest we can get her into see a specialist is May 18. Its so hard to find out something is wrong with your child and just not knowing exactly what needs to be done.

Thanks. Actually, Ang talked to him on facebook and he's been asking about Amber. Danny has been great to send Ang a message to check on Amber. That puts the biggest smile on her face. He told Ang he was going to try and get her a package together and mail it to her. (He said he's the biggest procrastinator so bare with him. lol) We were going to male that shirt to him and have him sign it for her but she won't take it off. She told her mom to get another made and mail it to him. She is rotten. :)

Thats awesome lol. Yeah he has had something in the works for a little while but like shawn sd, Danny told Ang that he was the biggest procratinator, it'll get done and it'll be awesome! She will be so happy, I was talking to her the other day and she was super excited that Danny commented on the picture of her shirt that her mom put up on facebook. she is super cute and sweet, and she's a pistol. She has so much love and support behind her that she will definitly get through this and be just fine :)

Ang said she'd tell Amber when she gets out of school today. I got her some beads to make necklaces with the other day and she made one of Danny's name and is wearing it. She wasn't feeling good yesterday and didn't go to school. The school was trying to give Ang a hard time about her missing several days the past few weeks. Ang took care of it (you should read her email, letter and I wish I could of heard the phone call). lol

Thanks again everyone. We got more test results back today and her kidney isn't filtering like it should. Its over worked. They are trying to get her in sooner if at all possible to see the nephrologist. He is on vacation like 2 weeks so thats why his appointments are so far out. If he has a cancellation at all they hopefully will call.

I have two nephews that I keep a lot and the oldest is one and a half and he has a condition called hyperkelimia which is his kidneys don't filter out enough potassium and it builds up in his system it was really scary at first but now he is a lot better and I'm sure your daughter is strong and she will be ok too.my prayers are with you.

Wow, I am so sorry to hear what you all have been going thru Shawn and Angie. She seems like a really sweet and tough kid. I'm glad to know that she is going to see a gastro as well. If the pain is just under the ribs on that right side it could be gallbladder pain. It can get stressed (just like other organs) if the kidneys aren't working great. I can tell you first-hand that gallbladder problems can HURT. There are some pretty simple, non-invasive tests they can do to check it though. Non-invasive is always good with a kid her age.

Anyway, that info is just from my own personal experience. I wish you the best and am praying for you all and the doctors. May they be the best, brightest, kindest doctors there are and help get your baby well again!

Amber had a pretty bad day Saturday. She laid around most of the day. I felt so bad for her. I talked to her primary care doctor and she said just continue to treat as we have been. She even called the specialist again to see if they could work her in faster. I'm hoping for a call soon but I kind of doubt it. He's on vacation again before she seems him. It's hard to see her hurt and feel bad all the time.
I left work a little early and picked her & Ashley up from school. Amber looked so pale & she said she'd been hurting. Wish there was more we could do for her.

I'm glad she had such a great time and liked the movie. I wanna see it but who knows when i'd be able to. I hate that she was in so much pain. She told me this morning that the pain wasnt too bad, but she had to get offline cuz she was gonna lay down cuz she was hurting :( Hope the pain eases off and she has a good weekend. Amber has been texting me this morning. Her side is hurting her pretty bad. Thankful she sees the nephrologist on the 18th and that its only a few days away.

Shawn wanted me to update you guys on how the Dr's appointment went so this is what I know. The Dr. said that overall Amber would be fine. She does in fact have only one kidney and it is very enlarged. She is going to have to be careful and not get hit in that area. I believe the Dr wants to do more testing, but im not 100% positive. That is all I know at this time. I'm know I speak for Shawn, Ang and their family when I say thank you all so much for ur thoughts and prayers, it has made this proccess so much easier on them, though it has still been tough. I'm sure Amber is very happy as well that u guys have thought and prayed for her. If you guys can still keep all of them in ur thoughts and prayers it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry me or Ang didn't get to update yesterday. It was a rough day. Amber will be ok but she has to be very careful. She can not play any contact sports at all. Even a fall on her right side could do enough damage that she would have to have a transplant. He said the kidney is extremely large. He compared her kidney to that of an 18yr old w a large kidney. He said her's is so large it wasn't on the chart the he was comparing with. Amber is small for her age (very skinny). As for the pain, they are still not for sure what is causing it. They did some testing yesterday and there will be more to come. Ang asked the doctor how this will affect Amber later on as far as having kids. (She asked this cause Amber had asked her.) He could not give an answer due to they are not for sure if the kidney will grow more or how much. So that leaves little room for other organs.
Amber took it all well except when the doctor told her no karate she got pissed off. She understands but she was disappointed.
We appreciate every single thought or prayer. This lil girl means the world to me. We still don't know allot more than we did. But thank you all so much. Ang wanted me to tell you how much it has all meant to her. She's in bed with strepp, an ear infection and a fever. I think the stress has caught up with her.

Several people have asked about Amber so I wanted to let you all know she's doing pretty good. We still have not heard the results from her blood work. Which I think is a good sign. If they were bad they would have called if they are good they mail the results. She was in some pain last night. She went on a field trip Monday to Fun Expedition. She road go carts,climbed a rock wall (emailed me & said I still have the record of 3 seconds, I'm tall so two reaches and I'm at the top). Amber climbed it in 11 seconds. She did it in like 13 last year. She rode bumper cars (that made me nervous because of her kidney). And in case you're wondering yes I will be so protective of this little girl. I'm gonna be over protective. This is her last week of school.
Ang now has walking pneumonia. She's not the greatest patient (she doesn't listen). Sorry Ang. lol She's stubborn as can be. She went to work Monday morning & one of the doctors told her to go get blood work done for myco test. She got so mad cause she wanted to work even though she felt awful. He was right she tested positive. I think her immune system is low due to all the stress she's had with Amber,her work and her dad. I'm gonna get her better.

Thanks thats very sweet. Things are starting to look better. Ang feels better today then she has in a week. She's coughing still. Amber hasn't been in pain today. Or at least she hasn't called or emailed us she hasn't gotten home from school yet. The doctor did do an ultrasound on her gall bladder it came back fine. He said if the pain continues they may do a Hida Scan (I think thats how its spelled). They think the her kidney is so large it may be putting pressure on something causing pain.

Amber is still in pain. She was hurting bad last night but it's eased off today. Since her kidney is so big there isn't allot they can do at this time. If she has a transplant she'd be on meds the rest of her life and she says she can tolerate the pain. I think the thought of a transplant scares her. I know it scares the hell out of me. Danny sent Amber some gifts that put a big smile on her face. :D She was so excited when she got the package from him. She's been hurting lately and its amazing how this lifted her up. She emailed Shawn as soon as she got it telling him she was putting Danny's picture on the wall. lol And she did right next to Faber's. She hasn't stop talking about how great Danny and all the Team Alpha Male guys are. Almost all of them signed something for her. Great bunch of guys. Amber says the WEC shirt is special since Danny,Chad,Joseph & Urijah signed it and she says they will all have belts and are Champs.

Thanks H&R. Amber has showed this stuff off to everyone. They are the best and I appreaciate Danny taking the time to get this stuff for her and sending it to her. His girlfriend mailed it out cause her name was on it and Ang thanked her for sending it. She sent Ang a message back telling her how Danny talks about Amber and he shows Amber's pictures to her. Anng told Amber and she said she's sending his girlfriend,Danny and all of TAM a thank you card. She's a great kid.

You should see how proud she is of that stuff. Danny and TAM guys really did wonders for her spitits. She talked to my dad earlier and was telling him about all the stuff and I could just imaging that big smile she had on her face. :D

Haven't been on here much but I wanted to update on Amber. She's about the same. She has good days and bad ones too. Her and her sister were in the pool the other evening and her sister kicked her in her side. She hurt for several hours but she's ok now. When she hurts sometimes its pretty bad. It's hard not being able to do anything. We ate at Red Lobster the other day and my lil girl found a love for crab legs. lol It was so funny she would never try them before but since I ate them she wanted to try them. She ate almost a pound. She's stubborn so she says she won't try something but if Ang says I like it she'll try it. It drives Ang nuts.

We took her to the beach a few weeks ago and she was on in pain bad one night. We don't have anymore answers as to why. We just take it one day at a time.

Hadn't been on in a while so I thought I'd give an update on Amber. She's been having headaches and tremors in her right hand. She had an mri a few weeks ago & it didn't show anything except a sinus infection. But her braces made artifacts in the images so they may do a ct scan to check vascular flow. Her side still hurts her. She's been back and forth to the doctors trying to get some answers. Her left side hurts her now, they thought this was due to a pulled muscle but I disagree cause its lasted for a few months. She's got a great attitude about all of this and she doesn't let it get her down. That's my lil girl :) she just won a gift card from school for great behavior and a positive attitude. I'm proud of her. And Ashley made all A's in all her (honors) classes.
Amber was so excited that Danny won his fight, she's wearing her Last Call shirt out. lol
