Were did the name "urijah" come from? Like the heritage?

Hey if anyone knows urijahs a cool name, I never have heard of anyone else with the name..

Whats its origin? Like it sounds Like its a egyptian name or something haha

Uriah is the original spelling of the name and it's Hebrew. I thought maybe his might come from a German background since "j" are pronounced as "y" in the German language. I've never seen it spelled "Urijah" before but if you read the book David Copperfield one of the main characters name is Uriah Heep. It's also the name of a band.

WOW! Never knew that Ej. That's pretty cool. I love his name, not sure if it's because it's his name or what, it just sounds like a hot guys name you know what I mean? I think it fits him perfectly. In the upcoming years there are going to be alot more kids with that name running around, I've herad of a few that have named their kids after Urijah. You know you're a badass when people name their kids after you!!!

Funny. We just read a passage from Ezra (in the Bible) yesterday at church, which had Uriah in it (it was missing the "j", but my husband and I giggled when the pastor said it from the pulpit). I think it is biblical based on his upbringing.

Yes, I am trying to find that link and post it for everyone.... Uriah was a biblical figure and was a warrior of some kind (from the interview that I saw).
