FIGHT PREPARATION:

With this unforeseen fight postponement, how will this affect Urijah's training schedule? I know alot goes into the timing of a fighters training, diet, mental prep in reference to a fight. Even fighters operating at Urijah's level suffer from concerns such as weigh-in, muscle health (potential new injuries during training), and most importantly mental burnout. How is the team keeping their athlete focused and on-track? From a conditioning standpoint, I’m sure Urijah's off-season/ between fight regiment is willingly adhered to by the champ. What about the extra drills and prep that may be opponent specific? Just wondering for my own training?

I'm not expecting a response until after the fight, as I'm sure your opponent's camp is using this time to do as much reconnaissance on Urijah as they can.

Just one observation: The Champ's biggest asset is the mental focus he maintains under pressure. Over the years I've learned (most times the hard-way) that a persons intentions are usually broadcast through body language. Under pressure, Urijah appears to become more relaxed. I think it’s the most unique and dangerous quality that a fighter can possess. It’s not the dog that barks and growls that you have to worry about. It’s the quiet one you need to keep an eye on. They’re just trying to close the distance to increase the odds of taking you off. Hope to see it firsthand in Florida. Good Luck, Bro!!!

Those are some important questions. I like to know as well. Maybe when Urijah reads this he can answer this himself?

From what I have heard, and asked about Urijahs traning in the past he pretty much trains and stays fight ready 365 !! He actually does not train hard at all the week before his fights and changes up his sleeping pattern and starts staying up late night and sleeping in.

I saw Urijah in the Hotel in SAC for the Jens fight at around 200 am the morning of the fight. Before peeps start calling me and and saying I am full of shit he got his hair braided late that night. I heard that he sleeps as late as possible the day of the fight so when he wakes up it is time for business in a few short hours. That way he does not have to think about it !! He just has to warm up a lil then whip ass !!!
