Mike Brown is an OK fighter and may last to the second round... but who is next? The WEC and the UFC have nobody for him. A second Jens match would be a good draw, but not really a fight I would want to see. Miguel Torres would be a really good fight to see, but I'm not sure Faber has 10 pounds to drop. If Zuffa can sign Kid Yamamoto, that would be the fight of the year. There just isn't the big names around like heavy weight has right now... Lesnar, Couture, Nog, Fedor, Arlovski. Yes, I'm one of those guys that thinks Brock will destroy Randy.

I recently viewed a replay of UFC 36 Matt Serra vs Kelly Dullanty in a light-weight match.

It was interesting to compare a younger and lighter Matt Serra (who is also 5'6" like Urijah) to the welterweight that he is today.

Although Urijah has stated that feather weight is HIS class and where he belongs...I predict that he will go up in weight eventually. Maybe not in the near future unless a super fight is organized.

But wow....GSP vs Urijah would be incredible.....both so athletic and talented....and conditioned....

Of course all of Urijahs fights have been incredible and any opponent will be phenominal to watch him dominate...can't wait for the next one.....
His skill, technique, strength, conditioning, drive and dedication is truly inspirational...and amazing...gotta luv it!!!

Go Urijah!!!

Woot Woot!!

:D

GSP would be a good match but looking at his last fight, he needed some work. Urijahs conditioning far surpasses the work ethics of GSp by a long shot.

Yes, Urijah's training ethic is the ultimate! But, GSP has really improved his training ethic and has focused on his fighting! I think he has really begun his road to fighing success. There really is not another fighter like Urijah!

Urijah will never fight GSP. Urijah walks around at 147. That would be an 23lb difference after weigh-ins. I'm not sure how much GSP cuts for each fight, but I'm sure it's 10-15lbs. Urijah vs BJ is more of a possibility, but that fight would probably be at the end of both of their careers.

Urijah, you check the boards, what are your thoughts???

As I see it there is NO ONE in the division that beats Faber !!

From a fan perspective, in a perfect world for us.............. Urijah drops to 135 and fights Torres !!

Then Fights Kid Yamamoto and Defends the 45 belt.
THEN he moves up to 55 and avenges his loss against Tyson Griffin in the UFC. (Signs a three fight Deal with the UFC) then Fights Takanori Gomi, then his boi BJ for the lightweight Belt !! Gets that belt then walks away......back to his bread and butter the WEC.

While still at 55 he could go ahead and fight Varner or Razor Rob whoever has the LW belt at the time and go down as the MOST decorated fighter of all time. Holding Titles in THREE weight classes and Four different organizations (dont forget the titles he already held in Gladiator Challenge and King of the Cage at Bantamweight as well and Held Three Belts at once ) Actually in this scenerio he would hold three different belts in three different weight classes, and TWO organizations.

Although he was stripped of the belts that he held in GC and KOTC if he would have stayed there he would still be the champ no doubt.

With all that said It doesnt hurt to dream..........

The WEC needs new talent to challenge Urijah for sure other wise the bloodbath will continue until Urijah decides to hang it up.

If Urijah left to fight in the UFC for three fights the WEC would not do the revenue they need to to remain the second biggest promotion in MMA today.( Dana and the Fertitta's would never let that happen) Urijah puts asses in seats....... period !! So I doubt we will ever see anything close to that pipe dream...........................one thing is for sure though I am excited to see Urijah beat Brown, and whoever else they put in front of him in the years to come. He will continue to dominate and is a true ambassodor for the soprt and will be a MMA LEGEND for generations to come !! With 7 knockouts and 10 submission victories to his 20-1 record which will only get better with time. Urijah remains exciting to watch and will continue to be the 45 KING for years to come !!

Urijah still has some good fights left in with the WEC's current 145 lbs guys... Jose Aldo is no joke and definitely has potential to climb the ladder and get a shot at the title... Besides that it sounds like Garcia has been promised a title shot also if both fighters win on the 10th... Check it out at http://www.fightticker.com/node/2296

I agree Aldo is a stud, I was there in Sac when he beat down "Pequeno" who tested positive for juice !! It was an impressive win but IS Aldo on the same LEVEL as Faber? I dont think so Bro !! As far as Garcia is concerned with all of his legal troubles disrupting his traning for cocaine trafficing do you think he is ready for Urijah ? Beside he was beaten by Cole Miller and Roger Huerta. Those two are soild fighters but just not on same level as Faber bro. I would go see the Aldo fight but Faber will make short work of Garcia ! Garcia is a Texas boy and I always pull for Texas fighters, but that is like putting a gazel in the Ring with a Hungry lion. Garcia and Aldo will just be another notch on Fabers belt !!

Personally Garcia gets his ass handed to him by Jens on the 10th in Florida !! I will be there so we have to see how that all plays out !!

I didn't mean a fight in reality!!! Just a dream match....:o

I understand the weight diff...but that would be a fantastik match when you think of their athletisism...(in my opinion anyways)...

It was also interesting (in my opinion) seeing how much Matt Serra has gone up in weight considering he is Urijahs height...maybe long term....

There are so many fighter that move up and down the ladder of weight classes. Off hand one that really stands out in my mind is Joe Diesel Riggs !! Riggs has fought in the Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Middleweight and Welterweight divisions. So the sky is the limit. GSP and Urijah would be a Hella good fight IMO. Maybe they could fight at a catch weight.....that would be sick. Again for all of you who jumped all over jessica.......this is puerly hypothetically speaking . Never hurts to dream.

I couldn't agree more that neither of those guys are on Fabers level...I was just predicting some good upcoming fights for Faber before he starts changing weight classes or going potentially going to another organization... WAR FABERRR!!!

On another note, how many people on this board are going to the fight on the 10th?? I'm flying down there solo and wouldn't mind meeting up with some fellow Faber fans since it is in Brown's territory...

Brown is a super nice guy as well. At 34 he was checking his weight and was carrying a poster. I asked if it was for the event and he said yeah signed by all the fighters.......He asked if I wanted to see it and rolled it out. I asked him if he wanted to sell it and he just laughed he told me that all the fighters get one at each fight. He talked about how shitty he felt because he has been starving himself and still need to drop 4 lbs. He was obviously not feeling good but still made the time to talk to me. I thought that was sweet. He even posed for a few pictures. I saw him post and he recognized me and came over and talked a few mins. I told him I scored one of those dope ass posters at the event. They were $100 bucks but had all the fighters sigs on there. I have since had it professional frame and have it hanging on my wall in my game room. Brown is a class act to bad he has to take a beat down in his home town.

Tough dudes hunger for Urijah's title, but most would be just cannon fodder for his win stats. Certainly there are hungry upstarts at 145, but the WEC needs to step it up in promoting the division. A possible rematch with Jens would be a huge draw, but i would rather see Torres put on ten to challenge Urijah. Down the road its his bro'...BJ Penn. Peace.

Enjoy your trip JB. If Urijah's entourage has Master Thong's possum on a leash guard it close. Brown's posse might want it for supper. Peace.

That is some funny S@*T about the possum bro !! I think with the WEC folding the Heavyweight and Lightheavy's into the UFC is a BIG mistake. They will have a hard time filling cards that people want to see. IMO anyways. Urijah carries the organization and is the WEC poster buy. I am not saying that there is not a ton of talent in the WEC because there is. Just not alot of fighters with ticket moving ability like Urijah has. With the two Divisions folded into the UFC that would make the other Key fighter have to fight more often and Urijah is already fighting 4-6 times a year with this year being a exception. Which is alot of fights at this level. How long can a fighter keep up that kinda pace and stay healthy.........who knows. With Urijahs work ethic I guess he can but DAMN........all I am trying to say is that the WEC needs alot more new talent and I personally think it is a hugh mistake to fold the Heavyweight and Lighthwavys into the UFC !! It will put to much pressure on your studs like Torres, Varner, Condit, Razor Rob, Sonnen, Stan, Filio, Curran, Brown, Valencia, BeBe etc all your big gun popular guys will have to fight alot more frequently which will result in alot more hurt fighters in my opinion anyways !!

I agree with you JB. That's way too much pressure and a lot of people don't realize the recuperation period after a match. If you look at Pulvers last match he was thrashed by Faber. Afterwords I read about how beaten he was. I give him serious props though because he knew he had to be ready for his next match. They tried to put him on medical leave because they thought he had a busted eye socket but he proved them wrong just for his next match. I couldn't imagine the pressure of all that folding together.

Solid observations JB and Playboy. Recall how professional boxing suffered during the late 1970's and 1980's with multiple factions fronting their belts. Boxers were treated rude and crude by promoters, forced to cut or gain for ever-shifting weight classes, taking bouts on unreasonably short notice, match-ups leading to injuries, comas and deaths. NEVER again should Vegas shills taint combat sports. Up to now it seems the WEC and UFC are committed toward taking the high road approach toward its fighters. Lets hope for a bright MMA future. Peace.

I agree that WEC folding the 2 heavy divisions is a big mistake. Most of their talent is in the lights, but you need diversity on a card to make it successful. Affliction is a good example, they only have heavyweights. I hope they don't fold, but how many times can you repackage 5 or 6 guys in the same weight class? I know they are trying to get other guys signed, but I think Dana is right... they are doomed.

I was at the Faber/Pulver fight then TWO weeks after Urijah handed out the Beat down on Jens at Militech Houston he held a traning seminar. He asked when you shook his hand not to apply any pressure because his hand were SO f'n sore from punching Jens !! Even when you whip someones ass you still need Down time. How can you train hard when you cant even shake hands............. you cant !!! Big up to urijah for being the Tough MOFO that he is and still handling his business sore hands and all !!! Thanks for the Clinic in H-town !! You DA MAN !!

When asked to clarify that Weinberg would not return as O'Brien's bandleader after so many years, argyle knit uggs clearance (http://www.boots4usa.com/classic-argyle-knit-ugg-boots-c-21.html), Vivino said, ugg boots london (http://www.boots4usa.com),for example (http://www.toyotatundraforums.com/showthread.php?t=19856), "Max has his big band out there that has been his dream all his life, bailey button (http://www.boots4usa.com), kind of a Buddy Rich band." He joked about Weinberg's longtime Springsteen collaboration, uggs for women (http://www.boots4usa.com), too: "And there's a kid in Jersey that works with him occasionally...A singer-songwriter! Some guy that's got some hope over there!"
TBS has yet to confirm the report that Weinberg will not appear on 'Conan, uggs dakota sale (http://www.boots4usa.com/dakota-ugg-slippers-c-22.html),' but it looks like the cat may already be out of the bag!
