Many of the experienced Martial Artists say that you can't finish at triangle the way that you'll see in this video below. This exact technique and exact finish was responsible for over 35 submissions in competitions from blue - brown belt, including a submission in Brazil at the Copa De Mundo event as a Brown Belt by Lloyd Irvin (He is known to be the “KING OF LEGLOCKS”). Watch this video, its really incredible:

"dont let nobody tell you" ??? these guys sound like pros

hate to be a ball-buster. but unless you opponent is totally clueless on what is going on, you wont get the choke with that triangle. there is way too much space behind him, all he has to do is lean back and turn and the choke is lost, he can also put his other arm through that huge gap and right there, the choke is lost.

if you have short legs, go for something else. might sound cruel but moves arent always "size-friendly"
you are better off looking for a choke to substitute for your triangle than trying to half-ass it and possibly get caught in a bad spot on your back in the process

This move has been applied in tournaments. JT Torres, Mike Fowler both of them have won matches with such moves in real tournaments..point is if u r not going to try how would you know...

it just seems more like a last resort move as opposed to something you would try and set up during a match.
i would assume a strong grappler would come in with a more efficient game plan that is more friendly to his
size or flexibility etc.

but i guess you never can fully predict what will happen in a match.
