In the headlining mixed martial arts bout, former collegiate wrestling star Chad Mendes (3-0, 1 KO, 1 Submission) of Hanford passed his stiffest test as a professional fighter, besting former PFC Featherweight Champion Art Arciniega (7-4, 1 KO, 6 Submissions) of Fresno, California over three rounds to grab a unanimous decision. Mendes, 145.4, took Arciniega, 146, to mat at will throughout the fight. Arciniega held his own when they stood up, but even then Mendes landed some fierce shots. All three judges scored the bout a shutout, 30-27. Mendes’ corner included MMA star Urijah Faber and former boxing champion Juan Lazcano.
