I just heard an interesting little rumor - I'm not saying it will happen, all I'm saying is that it has been discussed so don't hold me to the fire if it doesn't happen:

If Joseph wins on Sunday and he doesn't suffer any injuries - he could be fighting for the title in Sacramento along with Urijah. For that to happen, the winner of the Torres fight would have to come out in relatively good shape too.

Reminder: this is just a rumor. I can think of several reasons why it wouldn't happen - first of which is that Brian Bowles was originally supposed to be fighting for the title on Sunday until he got injured so I don't know why he wouldn't get the first crack at the belt once he rehabs.

I just wanted to put the info out there - if it happens it would be awesome!

Maybe we ought to see that Brian is still out with his injury, so that Joseph can be in there??? I am just saying, that maybe we can switch xrays or sumpin.:p

Well it looks like this rumor is officially dead - they were clearly building the Bowles v. Torres fight. I know it is only 2 months away, but maybe they give Joseph a fight in Sacrament. More likely though, he will fight on the August card as the co-main-event with Bowles and Torres. It seems like the WEC always likes having the fighters who are next in line for a title shot on the same card as the champion.

I don't think that's a bad thing. It will give Joseph more time to gain a little more experience and confidence before fighting Miguel.
