View Full Version : Best protein Supplements
I've always taken Myoplex lite in the past.
What do you guys think are the best protein supplements.
I don't need to lose weight, just add more lean muscle.
Thanks for any input
(my current diet is only 30% protein. Fat is at 10% and carbs make up the last 60%)

Honestly, there are not many good protein powders out there. I have been looking for a long time myself and i have came across only a few that i agree with. First thing to look for is the source of protein. I always tell all of my clients that if they want the best protein eat animal products or foods high in protein. Whey Protein is what is used in almost every powder and some will use soy. Let me tell you, from years of research, neither is good. Whey come from milk and dairy waste is turned into a powder by being cooked and altered. The available source of actually usable protein is unknown, despite what the label might say, so really your putting a dead protein into your body that has been added with tons of chemicals and additives. ( no wonder more people dont see great results from there shakes etc. ) So here are a few options, Egg Protein Powder, made from organic eggs and include only one or two ingredients, taste the same if not better and is a much more reliable source of protein. Here is a link to a great one i have used...

These are two great ones and the good thing about egg protein is that most people cannot handle milk due to lactose intolerance, well whey comes from milk products, so egg protein is a better choice all around!
Hope this helps!

Yes I would say eggs as well as red and white meat, and even nuts like peanuts and almonds have some , but they mostly are healthy fat sources. Fish are good protein sources, ex: tuna is verrrryyy cheap. Yay
OK guys, THANK YOU for the informative responses.
MUCH appreciate all your help:)

Egg Protein is good if lactose is an issue if it isnt an issue it comes in in second place....
Whey protein isolate is probably the closest thing to a perfect protein source. Whey protein has the highest biological value score 104 and egg protein scores 100, they are both great source.
and...
On the PDCAA score the highest score is a 1.0 which is where the egg protein lands, BUT whey comes in at 1.14 although it is reported at 1.0 as it is the highest number given.
People are always tring to reinvent the wheel, change a name, use new packaging, usually to make money.
