View Full Version : No WEC in Sacramento until august?
I am posting this seperate from the news that Seth broke about Faber possibly fighting in April this could be a reason why also. WWE is hold a PPV on June 28th there and they have been informing arenas that no wrestling or mma 30 days before or 30 days after a PPV can be held in the same arena. So it doesn't seem there will be a show until august. So maybe the April fight makes sense now because they didn't book the arena in time? They could have it at the beginning of June but they wouldn't risk a Faber loss or injury in april would they? Thats only a 2 month turn around if it is in early june. Again i am just speculating. Just a coincidence there is talk of him fighting in April now on the same day WWE announced they were gona be there.
This was all just announced yesterday at a house show that they were going to have the ppv there. I read that and I remembered the "30 days clause" from years ago and wondered if it still apllies and I guess it does.
Announcing of the show:

30 days clause:

Sorry thats an older news item but couldn't find anything updated.
Now that's some research... I have a feeling something is going to be announced pretty soon or maybe nothing at all that'd also be good, Urijah deserves the title shot now, no obstructions.

I hope you're right Seth. All this speculation about when or even if he's going to get his rematch is driving me crazy. I hope the WEC comes out with some kind of announcment soon as to who will get the winner of the Brown/Garcia fight.

well, i dont see how the wwe can dictate what goes in in an arena that they don't own or have a financial intrest in. the article says " they don't want a MMA event booked in the same building 30 days before or after a WWE (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/wwe_news.shtml)event"...
"want" being the key word. they're in no position to make demands, arenas are rented out to whatever entities are willing to meet the requirements & pay the fees...they can try to bully arena owners, but sacramento isn't LA but it sure isn't north dakota or somewhere - if wwe doesnt like it, they're not the only game in town thats for sure!!

They've done it that way for years with other companies so mma is no exception.

That's us against them if they can't find a way to let Urijah beat some ass in Sactown soon. They need to know we are trying to plan a convention of Urijah fans:cool:

F**k the WWE. I'm mean, really, I'd rather watch real fighting over bad acting any day.

You just said the whole 145lb division is better then faber :D
I knew I was screwing those up. I'm still stuck on the old fashioned way of looking at those things.

Tell em to bring urijahs next fight to albuquerque, we have a few arenas that are perfect for a wec event. the last time wec came here it was very succesful. Wec 32 was very successful, it was at the santa anna star center and was a complete sellout. If not a urijah fight another wec event atleast we need some action here!! a urijah fight would be choice though!!!! and i hate former wwe stars who think theyre "mma fighters" when really theyre just oversized ogres with unnatural beast strength, and not to mention HAMMER FISTS!!!!
