I feel that from a business standpoint this is a really bad move. The reason I say this is because, it puts WAY TO MUCH pressure on your TOP DOG WEC fighters like Urijah, Torres, Varner, Condit, Razor Rob, Pulver, etc (THE GUYS WHO PUT ASSES IN THE SEATS) to fight MORE often.

From a FAN's stand point it is GREAT. We will get to see more big name fighters on every card. Thus making it harder on the fighters who will have to fight more often then they normally would.

I feel that over the long haul this will hurt the organization at the corp. Because Who wants to pay for a flight and hotel for a fight that does not have some top name fighters on the card. NOT ME..........no disrepect to any of the fighters who fight in the WEC !! Because to make it to this level of competition you have to be a stud. That said ONLY BIG NAME fighters who have been marketed well and have commercial value SELL tickets. PERIOD !!
I am noit flying across the states to watch Charlie Valencia fight Dominic Cruz as an example.( That was a good fight BTW) I love both these guys they just Dont have the STAR appeal needed to fill an arena.

So.....I am not sure what to think of this whole deal. Do the current WEC champs get folded into the UFC and get a shot at the Current UFC champs? How is that all gonna play out. I would Love to see Paulo fight Anderson that would be a decent fight for about half a round !! Steve Cantwell vs Forrest would be another disaster waiting to happen. So where do the current WEC champs with no homes go ........??????

I have mixed feelings about this whole ordeal, but for the most part hate to see the organization lose alot of good fighters. Even though we are only talking about 18 guys, I will miss seeing Chael Sonnen, Paulo Filho, Tim McKenzie, Doug Marshall, Brian Stann, and Mark Munoz, fight in the WEC !!

too many changes and too many MMA organizations imo... it's hard to keep up with all the new fighting organizations... boxing found itself doing the same thing... all of a sudden, there were way too many champions in their weight catagories, claiming to be the world champion...

sometimes i think MMA is growing too fast, and everyone (companies) want a piece of the pie.

i had originally thought the same thing as you all, ALTHOUGH i still disagree about getting rid of mid weight, thought was only lh and h. but you see UFC focuses on the slighter bigger fellas, and we see most of WEC's great fights in the lower weights. because ufc and wec are owned by same organization its a pretty good marketing technique for them. Only means now we will see more (hopefully) of our fellow WEC fighters fightin with the big dogs in the UFC.

you have to focus on your strengths, its just business... sadly

I think this kinda came out of no where... Besides that the lhw and kinda dwindling for competition... The only potential fight I could see coming next is Munoz vs. Cantwell.... I really wanted to see where Cantwell could go after his last performance... and I dont Filho has a lot of hype from everyone and I'm still not too sure why... He definitely didn't have a dominating performance against Sonnen... I'm sure there's a reason why everyone calls him one of the best buy I'm anxious for the Filho vs Sonnen II....Sonnen's doing good....

I agree completely. I don't think this is a good move AT ALL. Like you said, this will take a toll on the fighters mainly and I'm sure it'll hurt their sales as well. Once again, I agree completely that it's not as appealing to buy tickets to watch a match if there's no big names on the card. I mean, the WEC wasn't raking in max profits to begin with so I just don't know how they're going to play it. Time will tell. I'm guessing they aren't doing an PPV matches for a while like they were trying to push for eventually.

It will be really tuff to market PPV without a stacked card !! I cant see Urijah fighting every other month...............
