the article is lacking some info that I'd like to know, though...

weight? so we can figure out who his competition will be if/when he makes it to the bigs...

organization? so we can follow him a little better...

if only I had some sort of machine at my fingertips where I could look up any sort of information on any subject...

Ben is referenced to be 5'8", college wrestling weight was 174. He's due to fight Feb. 7 in Columbus, MO and Feb. 26 in Miami. Both in the Headhunters Fight League at 170 lbs. Opponent not yet named.

That's brutal..I'm sure he's used to rolling every week competively...but still...twice in a matter of three weks...that don't happen in the bigs!

Very good article...

He had a fight last ight, Headhunter Productions, Columbia, Missouri, trainibg with Din Thomas, who also fought at this event...can't find results anywhere yet.

Ben Askren just improved his pro MMA record to 2-0 with a first-round submission victory ( He forced a tap-out via arm triangle just 87 seconds into the night's main event) over Mitchell Harris at Saturday's Patriot Act II event in Columbia.

I watched the video of the event, he still looks sloppy, but then again he is a 4-time NCAA All American, and a 2008 US Olympian, so it obviously doesn't matter what I think he looks like.
