For those of you who have never seen or want to know more about muay thai, not MMA based muay thai, here is a great fight for you. It is also a classic match. We have Jongsanan Fairtex(red trunks) vs Sakmonkol Sitchuchok(blue trunks). This match is one of the reasons why muay thai is called brutal. Neither fighter runs away during the fight and the elbows and knees fly like you will never see in an MMA match. Enjoy!

Keep 'em coming...
that is just a great "fight" all around...almost exactly what I look for whne watching boxing or MMA...thos elbows to the face and knees to the body in the clinch are killer! I think alot can be learned by lower level fighters by watching Muay Thai like this.

I'm uploading a very good muay thai documentary now for you all to download. I could not find the entire video on a video hosting site like youtube or google video. Don't worry, there are no virus's or malware attached to it. I'm not a jerk like that. This vid shows you the lives of a few different boxers as they try to fulfill that dreams of being a champion. Their training and daily life are included. Please remember that this is Thailand and that most of the people there do not have the luxuries that we call necessities. Also, Master Thong came from a situation similar to these shown in the vid.

It depends on the studio. The best thing to do is call around and ask. Some places might also offer a free trial class. Definitely check into it.

What EJ said.
i would not even consider cost as a major factor, most gyms are remotely close in cost, but its quality you should look for. I went to LA boxing for a while, was like 80 bucks a month or so, i learned absolutely nothing, it was basically an expensive arobics class, not be totally ragging on them, it did help my cardio. But now i go to this gym that is almost completely hidden, my uncle found it and told me about it, its a bit cheaper than LA boxing and is like 100X better

so it is that expensive. I called tiger scholmen by me and they wanted 100 for a month. I thought they were on crack telling me that price

Did they tell you anything else? What does $100 a month get you? How many classes per week? Also, what are their credentials? Like what Tap said. It's not really about the money but about the training and if they are good. The thing about martial arts training is it's not cheap. But if you find the right place it is worth every penny.
especially during these times, they have to raise their price to stay in business. it used to be like 70 a month for this p lace, now its getting closer to 90, but i get to go to any class 7 days a week, and i get a private lesson once a week
