Hey everyone! This is my first post, but it is great to be a part of such a great community of fans. I wondered if anyone caught the training article in Men's Fitness? I believe it's out of circulation now, and I hoped someone could give me some of Urijah's training techniques. Thanks everyone! Take care.

Cosmo, nice to have you. Thanks for posting. I read the article while standing in the aisle at the grocery store, I really can't remember too much about the training. You might be able to look some info up on youtube or search his name in google. There is alot of free valuable info on the internet. All I know is that he is hard core with his training! There is also a contest you can enter to win a one on one training session with the Champ. You can check that out on No Fear's website. Nofear.com. Maybe you'll win and then you can see first hand what he does :) Sorry I couldn't help you more with the article.

Hey Cosmo,
I cut the article out and hung it up on my wall because there is a bad ass pic of Urijah on the page but for the workout itself it was circuit of jump rope, sprawl to pushups, tire flip, medicine ball toss, sledgehammer swings, pullups and a one minute plank. He repeated it 5 times, so I'm sure it is a great workout if Urijah does it. Probably makes you cut weight like a mother bc your doing soo much over a short period of time. He does 20 reps on the sprawls and pullups, and 10 reps on the tire flips and med ball toss. 10 mins of jump rope as a warm up. and One minute for the sledgehammer swing... Hope that helps!

I was fortunate to be able to go to one of Faber's seminars. Matt Sanchez was also there to show us what to do. I am telling you, those guys now how to train and to teach. They went right off there head and did not skip a beat once. They were able to answer all of our questions. Hell, the warm up was one hell of a warm up. Being able to go not only help me with my grappling game, but it helped me be a better Faber fan and a better overall MMA fan. He has a plan for everything. Also, he said he does not lift weights. Wash board abs and no weights. That dude is Bad Ass.

dang thats some hardcore stuff! I wouldnt doubt it though thats probly what seperates urijah from all of the other WEC fighters, he doesnt really do alot of weight training its all stuff that has to do with building stamina, explosiveness and pushing his own wieght. The great thing about is that u dont need to go out and buy a weight set that costs a couple thousand dollars. Almost anyone can do thwrkouts like this at home and get in shape while still getting stronger and building muscle and stamina. Great Stuff

I would venture to say, that is only one of his possible many circuits that he does. Or evena just a basic crcuit with things he does most of the time. It would be likely that he changes things around and adds to it, or takes away as he sees what he body needs. Its a great place to start though, I am going to try the circuit tonight and see how bad I am in shape I am. lol
