Torres vs Tapia in Vegas on December 3rd! This is going to be a good one I'm excited to see who else is on the card! Anyone else going to this one? I'll be there for sure

WEC is also cutting out the 205 and 185 weight classes after December 3rd... Which means no more Sonnen, Filho, Stann, Cantwell, Marshall, etc.... Good or bad idea?

Stann and Cantwell are great, they cant pull a UFC and just cut out 2 weight classes

I agree. I don't really like the idea but I heard that Filho is going up to 205, so he'd be going to the UFC anyways. I'm sure there's a marketing scheme behind the idea though. The WEC has some really great lower weight fighters and most people couldn't care less about the WEC, so maybe they're trying to really market their strengths. I'm sure WEC wants to go PPV, but last I heard they don't get the best ratings in the world.

Does anyone else catch the smell of a unified and realigned UFC/WEC in the air?

So this will probably sound really stupid, but what are you two hinting at? I guess I'm just not smelling anything in the air. Rattle, what does it mean if that happens?

Suggesting that weight class manuvers might fortell UFC/WEC consolidation. With market money woes, demands for revenue, sponsorships, ect. ownership may feel time is ripe for unification. Just a thought.

Just a thought.Oh ok, I could understand them leaning that way. Maybe it wouldn't be too terrible of an idea to put some WEC fighters on UFC PPV cards. I would assume that it'd raise ratings a little bit. I don't think I'd be a fan of unifying the UFC/WEC completely.

i think it would be pretty good for them to combine. Its showin the big leagues of mma. With less competition with viewers on the 2, they can focus on the bigger picture.

oh god of course. I was skeptical about Torres the first time i watched him, but his energy level is amazing for such a small guy. I would hate to run into him on the streets.

I really enjoy watching Torres fight. He's an amazing fighter and I was very, very impressed with his last fight. He's become one of my favorites and I'm sure he's going to beat Tapia.

Torres is awesome! That 3 rounder against Maeda was a CLASSIC.

Torres is awesome! That 3 rounder against Maeda was a CLASSIC.I was so amazed by that fight. Everything went perfect. I loved when they put each other into those toeholds. Maeda had him in that hold really tight too, Torres just throws down and doesn't give up.
