View Full Version : way to go Joseph!!!
Awesome WEC debut. He owned that fight. It would have been great to see him finish it but either way he was great!!! What talent, can't wait to see him in the ring again!

AWESOME FIGHT! Loved all the combinations you were throwing. You're definitely the guy to watch in the WEC. Great job tonight!

Woot Woot! You rocked it Joseph! :D
Yeah his combinations were awesome. I loved how he wasn't afraid to try some crazy moves either, just like Urijah. He was doing some flying knees? I dunno, some flying stuff and spins? Ha ha ok, now that I official sound stupid, I just appreciated his willingness to try different moves. If that makes sense.

You don't sound stupid at all Lisa. I loved his combinations and his speed was incredible. You could definitely see a lot of Urijah in his fighting style yet, he has his style in there too. I'll definitely be watching out for all of his upcoming fights.

I think he did a move where he jumps up, leads with one knee/leg, then actually kicks with other...at least I think that was him.
Great use of the sprawl to negate Martinez' takedown attempts...great knees and kicks and combos...
That hip toss made me jump off my couch!
same here lucky! I would see something awesome and yell "hell yeah" everyone would come running in the room to make sure I was ok!!!! He was the one that did that move you described. Even the commentators were impressed with his combos. They kept saying Martinez was trying to do it all with one punch. Not a good idea considering it didn't even work. Joseph is fun to watch. Can't wait to see him again.

Yeah, Cody was rewinding the DVR to watch the toss over and over again (gotta love DVR). :) It's funny though, I may not like Frank Mir, but what he said about combinations is so true and Joseph was the master of them last night.
When they finally interviewed Urijah, he looked like a proud parent.
ha ha ha you are right Ej. he did look like a proud parent. How cute!!! In that picture they were taking of the 3 of them he kept saying "one team" as he pointed to the other guys (Dustin I think? and Joseph) that was pretty cool too. They are a family so I guess he was a proud parent or brother. :)

Another similarity that came through last night was in the pre-fight interview. He was very respectful and humble when talking about Martinez. Another Urijah trait.

Joseph was just awesome he has alot of speed. I saw him at the Dream fight and he was just even more powerful and fast this time but the whole time I am watching I can here Urijah in the background yelling out combos lol. And those shorts LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

Yeah it was a great fight - I'm glad he finally got to show off his skills. I know he'll never admit it, and not that it is anyone's fault but the media, but I wonder if he is getting tired of answering questions about Urijah in EVERY one of his interviews.
I mean, I know they are friends and he is so so thankful for everything Urijah has done for him - but literally every interview I have seen they ask and throughout his fight last night Mir was saying "that looks like Urijah"
I agree with you Sac. But that's not really a bad thing I don't think. That would be like me fighting and them being like "that looks like Gina" I wouldn't complain but I see what you are saying.

The post dream fight was the worst. They kept on veering to Urijah and U kept on saying "yeh but Joseph" it was funny and Joseph is just so collected he knows he has the skills and that he is a badace so I dont think it bothers him Urijah can only teach him so much the rest comes from him.
Good point Kmem. Urijah can only teach him so much, the rest comes from Joseph. great point.

Urijah simply tapped into Josephs strengths, helping him discover and bring out his best. If fans noticed some similarities in style - thats cool. Just means Joseph is comfortable there. Also shows Urijah becoming an even more inspirational and dynamic teacher as time goes on. A winning situation!
Congradulations Joseph!!

Apparently they weren't thinking the drop in weight all of the way thru to who he would be fighting:p
