This article talks about Urijah's fight with Aldo - but near the end suggests that WEC's march card will actually be in Florida

Florida is a little far for me...
I'll be there regardless, even if it was on the moon, I'd figure out a way to get there :) Thanks for the info though.

Lucky you! :) It's clear across the country from me and I'm paying for 2 (I'm bringing my son). Oh well, he'll just have to consider this birthday and Christmas all rolled into one for next year.

I know we've been talking about the rematch in March a lot but I really don't think it is going to happen in March.
There is no way Urijah will fight in Jan and then they will have him turn around and fight in March. Specifically, I don't think they would have him take on Brown again in his home-state just months after he already did that.
The way I see it - and just my opinion - Urijah fights Jens/Aldo in San Diego in Jan - Brown fights Garcia in Florida in March and then Urijah gets a rematch for the belt in Sacramento on Pay-Per-View in the summer.
Remember - Zuffa wants to make money and the only way to really do that is through Pay-Per-View - how better to start offering pay-per-view then with an event like the one they had in Sacramento. Plus, Brown got his chance at Faber in his hometown (FL) now Urijah gets his chance in CA.

I agree. I don't think the Champ will be fighting in March, but then again there was not a lot of time between the fight with Brown and the one coming up in Jan. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Other than a straight-up rematch with the Brownie, those pairings make good sense. I'd be shocked to see Urijah's next fight anywhere else than Cali.

It makes sense for Urijah to beat someone up before he gets at Brown again! It will settle Urijah down before he gets in there for the rematch.
Added Bonus: He can call Brown's ass out from the center of the ring after his victory. I saw some interview Brown did recently and he came off a lot less humble then before this fight. It kinda pissed me off considering that prior to this fight, Brown wasn't really well know among the WEC fan's (not to say he wasn't an established fighter). Plus, Brown did not dominate the champ or fight a long, close battle.
Bottom Line: Urijah established the fan base that follows the WEC. And I'm sure the WEC and Brown know this. Brown needs to establish himself as a true champion before he starts looking for fans to fall in line. I've watched the fight maybe more than several times, and I must conclude: while he is talented and came to fight, Brown just happened to be at the right place at the right time. This is just like Sera and GSP!!!!! GSP came back better and Sera couldn't keep up.
Striker1: who wants him to settle down? Not I!!!!!!

No chance his next fight is there. And it has been said before. If thee ends up being a rematch against Brown, the fight will be in Cali, not FL. After he wins his next two, maybe he will fight in FL. If you do go, he is awesome in person, so I am sure it would be worth it if you go.

If brownie does keep the belt, how long until he will be ready to fight??? Will his ribs be ready? Will everybody sign an off the wall paper giving their rights away forever??? I am actually doing pretty well right now, :)except for being lazy, so I don't know why I'm pessamistic, unless it's because I was looking forward to aa early '09 Sacto fight. That's what it is:o
Will you go if it's in Sac Chainsaw?

Yes I will Lisa. Going to the fight will be one of the first really cool things I'll get to do since I retired and gained all of this free time. I grew up there around Sacramento and it's just down the road from where I am in the Bay area, so I expect it to be really fun.:D
I will probably go to the fight if it's down in San Diego, but it is not set in stone yet. If it's Sacramento, I'll be going for there for sure until I move to Arizona, then I think Las Vegas will be the place I'll go.
I'm looking forward to watching the fight, getting to meet all of the fighters like JB does and getting to meet the all of you cool people from the board who get to make it there.:)
I'll be at a fight in Sac-town whenever that may be so I'll see ya there Tom Cat!!!!!
